The nominees for the Grammy Awards 2024 have been revealed, with Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, SZA, Lana Del Rey, boygenius, Miley Cyrus, Foo Fighters and Arctic Monkeys leading the way.
Taylor Swift earned six nominations, including Album of the Year for Midnights. “Anti-Hero” is up for song of the year and record of the year, while her collaboration with Ice Spice, “Karma,” is nominated for best pop duo/group performance. Swift has won 12 Grammys to date, including three album of the year trophies for Intrepid, 1989And folklore. If Midnights proves victorious, she will become the first artist to win Album of the Year four times.
SZA leads all of this year’s contenders with a total of nine nominations. His album, SOS, is nominated for album of the year, and “Kill Bill” is up for song of the year and record of the year. Speaking of Bridgers, she has received eight nominations, including seven for her work with boygenius. The group also including Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker released their first album, the recordnominated for Album of the Year and their song “Not Strong Enough” nominated for Record of the Year.

Olivia Rodrigo received six nominations in total, with her sophomore album, GUT, up for Album of the Year and “Vampire” for Song of the Year and Record of the Year. Most interestingly, Rodrigo’s “Ballad of a Homeschool Girl” is nominated for best rock song alongside the Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age.
Billie Eilish and Miley Cyrus also received six nominations each, while Lana Del Rey is up for trophies in five categories. On the rock front, the Foo Fighters, the Arctic Monkeys and Metallic each received three nominations. Rising country artist Zach Bryan also received three nominations.

Other notable nominees include Aphex Twin, who is nominated for Best Dance/Electronica Recording; Dolly Parton, nominated for best country pop solo performance; Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, nominated for Best Americana Album; and Joni Mitchell, whose recent live, Joni Mitchell in Newport, is nominated for best folk album. Also of note: Jeff Mangum of Neutral Milk Hotel received his first ever Grammy nomination for Best Box Set or Best Special Limited Edition Box Set.
A genre that hasn’t gotten any love from the Recording Academy? K-pop, which failed to secure a single nomination.
The Grammys, now in their 66th year, recognize the best albums, songs and music released between the eligibility period (October 1, 2022 to September 15, 2023).
The 2024 Grammy Awards will take place on February 4, 2024 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The event will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+.
The new category this year includes the additions for Best Pop Dance Recording, Best Alternative Jazz Album and Best African Musical Performance. Other changes involve the total number of nominees in the “Big Four” categories (Album, Record, Song and Best New Artist) being reduced from ten to eight. On the theme of AI, “Only human creators can be submitted to, nominated for, or won a Grammy Award. A work that does not contain any human authorship is not eligible in any category.
