At Syngenta, farmers are at the center of everything they do and in line with this commitment, Syngenta Bangladesh celebrated World Food Day on October 16, 2023, with the theme “Water is Life, water is food. Don’t leave anyone behind.” Attended by an inspiring gathering of farmers, government officials and Syngenta representatives at the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) office, Satkhira Company reinforced the importance of water awareness. The event, organized in collaboration with the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), highlighted the invaluable role of farmers in ensuring food security and underlined Syngenta’s commitment to empowering farmers and promoting agricultural sustainability.
The event was graced by distinguished guests including KBD Md. Saiful Islam, Deputy Director DAE, Satkhira; Mohammed Shahidul Islam, Director of Corporate Sustainability and External Affairs, Syngenta Bangladesh Limited; Dr. Md. Babul Akter, Principal Scientific Officer, BINA, Satkhira; and Sheikh Riyad Kamal Rony, Satkhira District Food Controller and Nilkomol Farmer Representatives. The event was chaired by KBD Md. Humayun Kabir, Additional Deputy Director, DAE, Satkhira, read a press release.
During the event, farmers shared their challenges and first-hand experiences in food growing practices. At the same time, they express their gratitude to the officials of Syngenta Bangladesh and the DAE for recognizing their essential contribution to global food security.
