MILWAUKEE − A Wisconsin-based gym chain has permanently and unexpectedly closed all of its locations across the state, effective Thursday evening.
According to an email sent to members of Fitness Experiencemembership will automatically transfer to a Planet Fitness location.
Member benefits, such as “Black Card” benefits, will be honored throughout the month of July, the company said in the email, and operations will continue in Minnesota.
The reason for the closure was not shared and the company did not immediately respond to questions, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, part of the USA TODAY Network, reported.
In a Facebook post, the company wrote that “this was an incredibly difficult decision and we apologize for this unfortunate news.”

Xperience Fitness has locations in Greenfield, West Allis, Hales Corners, Brookfield, Waukesha, Green Bay and Appleton.
“It’s disappointing,” said Eddie Juarez-Perez, a member who often traveled to West Allis to practice. “I switched to this gym from Planet Fitness in the summer of 2021, when I started taking my fitness a lot more seriously,” he said.
