SPOKANE, Wash. — The Associated Students of Health Sciences at Washington State University (ASWSUHS), The Spokane Public Library and Spokane Public Schools will host a fall health fair this Saturday.
The goal of this event is to promote healthy living and increase community engagement.
On October 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Shadle Park Library, everyone is invited to join a day of education, fun and engagement.
The health fair will feature activities, demonstrations and health screenings presented by WSU Health Sciences students to all attendees.
“Together, we aim to promote awareness of healthy lifestyle habits and disease prevention,” said Anna Schmidt, president of ASWSUHS. “With a wide range of topics to explore, you can learn about exercise, nutrition, dental hygiene, blood pressure, fire safety, vegetable gardening and much more. This event is an opportunity to give back to the incredible Spokane community!”
Some of the topics covered at the event include: exercise, nutrition, hand hygiene, dental hygiene, mental health, heart health, blood pressure and more!
Anyone participating will have the choice to participate in additional activities, including:
“Health is a multifaceted subject and by partnering with WSU Health Sciences, we can help bring their invaluable knowledge to our diverse group of library patrons, including other students, families and individuals of all ages and from all walks of life,” said Juan Juan, community educator. Moses.
The first 200 participants will receive free food to fuel them during the event, and there will also be raffle prizes! This event aims to promote community engagement in health promotion.
