A Veterans Career Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, November 9, at First Baptist Church of Clearwater, 310 Church Street, Beech Island. Employers include SRNS, SC Department of Corrections, SC National Guard, Aiken County Public Schools, Aiken Department of Public Safety, Aiken Regional Medical Centers and more. The Aiken Camellia Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, November 9, at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church, 125 Pendleton St. SW Guest speaker will be Joe Levert. The program will be Winter Beauties — Camellias, Palms and Citrus.
Fundraiser for paper shredding will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at Millbrook Baptist Church, 223 S. Aiken Blvd. Shredding will be carried out immediately on site, rain or shine. Donations will be collected at that time for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A chef’s extravaganza, around the world, will take place to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 9 at Woodside Country Club, 1000 Woodside Plantation Drive.
