Hey fellow Blazers, welcome to another week of Cherie’s Picks where we highlight some interesting happenings on campus for the week ahead. This week is Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, so make sure and try to dedicate some time to either volunteering on campus or dropping off donations!
To start the week, the Voluntary Services organize “Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week: Donation Collection» from Monday, November 13 to November 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 601 North Lee Street (SGPEH building). If possible this week, donate canned goods to this address or to our own Blazer Pantry to help those in need.
The Philosophy and Religious Studies Club welcomes “Religion and nationality in Galicia (Poland) in the late 19th and early 20th centuries: a case study» on Tuesday, November 14 from 5-6 p.m. in Odum Auditorium 1160. Dr. Magdalena J. Nowak will present and provide information on this topic and invites you to come join if you are intrigued.
Career Opportunities hosts “Fall Education Fair» on Wednesday, November 15 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Magnolia rooms of the University Center. All majors are invited to come and network with school systems and graduate programs.
Also on Wednesday, November 15, the Campus Activities Council is organizing “Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week: Grocery BINGO with CAB» from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in room 1011 of the Bailey Science Center. This grocery-themed bingo will give students the chance to win various gift baskets featuring food items, personal care baskets, as well as bingo favorites like Apple cameras and airtags.
The Divine Modeling Troupe is organizing its next fashion show »Dreams and nightmares» on Thursday, November 16 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Student Union ballrooms. Be on the lookout for models selling $2 pre-sale tickets, or you can pay $5 at the door to get in. They would love Blazer’s support, so come enjoy the show.
To end the school week, COSM GUIDES will gather at the Bison by Bailey Science Center to welcome “Campus cleaning» on Friday, November 17 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This event will include trash collection around the Bailey Science Center, West Hall, and Nevins Hall. Cleaning supplies will have the opportunity to earn 1.5 hours of service.
