The 12th annual Touring Career Workshop (TCW) – a free event featuring talks from music industry experts, resources and networking opportunities – will return to Nashville at the Soundcheck Annex on November 14.
TCW was created in 2011 by Chris Lisle and Erik Parker with the goal of educating “their touring music industry colleagues on key professional and personal topics, including financial planning, health insurance, homeownership and self-care for mental and physical health.” Lisle is the owner of concert event design, production and management company CLLD, whose clients include Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Brooks and Dunn and Nashville’s New Year’s Eve Bash, among others. During his more than three decades in the industry, Lisle has held positions such as production designer, lighting director, production manager and show producer. Parker has served as lighting director for artists such as OneRepublic, NeedTobreathe, Jennifer Nettles and Brooks and Dunn, as well as designing stages for events such as the KAABOO festival and designing and programming tours for Judah and the Lion, Dave Koz, Simply Three and others. .
“We are excited to return to the Soundcheck Annex for the 12th Annual Touring Careers Workshop. The focus on work-life balance is especially important this year,” Lisle said in a statement. “In addition to breakout sessions on the topic, we will also offer several sessions dedicated to educating those who are not currently working in live performance but are considering one of the many career paths available to them .”
Breakout sessions at the 2023 event include Touring Career Paths, Building Your Business, Making Money Last, Life Balance, Event Safety Alliance, Panel Provider employment and health insurance options. TCW will also offer a networking session with top suppliers in the industry.
An announcement from the Touring Career Workshop states that in addition to the free event, TCW offers the All Access program throughout the year, offering “four counseling sessions with one of several pre-service therapists and life coaches.” approved for all artists, musicians, teams, staff. , and their spouses.
