If you’ve only ever had wild rice in savory dishes, you’re in for a treat. Maple syrup gives the rice very complex flavors; it becomes incredibly aromatic, with notes of vanilla, toasted nuts and a floral flavor reminiscent of jasmine that pairs wonderfully with some fresh fruits. Berries are excellent, but if out of season, chop apples or sliced banana would also be delicious.
