Megan Rose, CEO of Better Together, will be a featured speaker at the seventh annual Policy Circle Leadership Summit, a national summit taking place November 15-17 in Tampa.
This year’s summit will highlight the theme “Focus on the Future – Unlocking the Promise of Every Generation” and will include interactive programs with national experts, policymakers and local changemakers who aim to ensure economic prosperity and abundant health for every generation.
The second day of the summit will feature Rose in a panel discussion titled “Driving Change – Tackling foster care at the local level for lasting impact.” » The session will begin at 3:25 p.m. and attendees will also hear from Charles Bender, founding CEO of Place of Hope and Darcy Olsen, founder and CEO of the Center for the Rights of Abused Children.
“I am honored to be asked to speak on such an important topic as the foster care crisis in Florida,” said Megan Rose, CEO of Better Together. “With more than 20,000 calls to the abuse helpline each month, the system is overwhelmed and our children still need help. This summit will help open the door to these difficult conversations and, in turn, spark change and create awareness.
The Policy Circle is a nonprofit organization that offers a variety of programs to provide women with the tools to become more influential leaders and discover innovative solutions to challenges in their communities.
The public can attend the summit for free online and those wishing to attend in person can register. HERE.
About Better Together
Better Together is a nonprofit organization that helps parents going through a difficult time keep their children out of foster care, find work, and address the root causes of their struggle so they can reunite as a family with the tools and support system needed to thrive. A privately funded and professionally supported organization, Better Together is made up of volunteers who believe that helping people help themselves is the best way to restore dignity and bring families together. Through the Better Families program, families are offered a preventative alternative to foster care while still getting the help they need. To date, the program has kept 98% of children served out of foster care. The Better Jobs program was created to address the 76% of families who come to Better Together due to economic hardship related to unemployment. In addition to community job fairs, the program provides job seekers with coaching, advice, support and encouragement through local partner churches. For more information, visit BetterTogetherUS.org.
