Cher has filed for guardianship over her troubled son Elijah Blue Allman, 47, because she is reportedly afraid he is spending all his money on drugs.
Legal documents obtained by The Post indicate that the “Believe” The singer is asking to be the sole conservator of her son’s estate because Allman is “substantially incapable of managing his own financial resources.”
“(Cher) was unable to discuss Elijah’s preferences regarding the appointment of a temporary conservator because, given Elijah’s current mental and physical health issues, discussed in detail in the Confidential Additional Information filed concurrently, he is unable to form or express a preference regarding the appointment of a conservator for his estate,” the documents read.
Allman reportedly has mental health issues, as well as substance addiction, that he has dealt with in the past.
The document says: “(Cher) is concerned that any funds distributed to Elijah will be immediately spent on medication, leaving Elijah without assets to support himself and putting his life in danger. »
The Post has contacted Cher’s representatives for comment.
Allman filed for divorce from his ex-wife, Marieangela King, also known as Queeny, in 2021.
The filing comes months after King claimed in divorce documents in December 2022 that the “DJ plays a Christmas song” the singer had allegedly hired four men to kidnap Allman from a New York hotel room in an apparent intervention a month earlier.
King later claimed that Cher continued to “interfere” with “the management of her son’s health and his location and accessibility” when the couple agreed to work on their marriage.
Cher denied the accusations in October, simply saying People“This rumor is not true,” and she then explained The Post’s Chuck Arnold in October.
“I didn’t do it, and if I did, I wouldn’t say I did it,” she said.
The “Strong Enough” singer then changed the subject, telling Arnold about a mother’s never-ending worry.
“You never stop being a mother – you go all the way, you go to the mattresses when you try to save your children. But I did not do it. And if I did, I wouldn’t want to tell you.
Allman had used the hashtag #ImprisonmentViaConservatorship in the last four of his Instagram posts – the first being December 19 and the last being earlier Wednesday – even if we don’t know exactly what the hashtag is about.
