The importance of timely cancer screening is the topic of discussion at an upcoming session at the Burlington Central Library.
The preventive health care event is presented by the Burlington Ontario Health Team (BOHT) and the Burlington Family Health Team and will focus on current cancer screening guidelines and methods and why for which it is essential to screen for breast, colon and cervical cancers.
Health experts say preventive care is essential to overall health and well-being. It helps to stay healthier by identifying problems earlier, making them easier to treat.
A nurse from the Burlington Family Health Team will lead the discussion.
The Burlington Ontario Health Team and the Burlington Family Health Team are local organizations that work together to provide health services and information to the community.
The session takes place on Tuesday March 19 from 7 p.m.
