THE National Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention helps veterans stay healthy and knowledgeable. THE My healtheVeterinarian The site provides veterans and their families with excellent, reliable patient education information as well as the latest VA news. Information about benefits and services for veterans is also available. Look at this video to learn more. When you register with My healtheVeterinarianyou will be able:
- renew prescriptions online
- keep a personal food and activity diary
- monitor your personal health data, such as blood pressure and pain levels
- maintain your own personal health record that you have entered yourself

Health of Women Veterans
Women are enrolling in the VA at record levels, challenging a VA healthcare system that has historically cared for a predominantly male population. Women veterans have proudly served. MOVE!
MOVE! is a weight management and health promotion program designed to improve the lives of veterans. The fundamental ideas of MOVE! – encourage healthy eating behavior, increase physical activity and promote even small weight losses – are easy to follow, based on the latest scientific advances in nutrition, and can help reduce health risks, prevent or reverse some diseases and improve your quality. of life. You might be able to MOVE! through group or individual sessions, MOVE! Coach Phone App, Lifestyle Phone Coaching or TéléMOVE!, one of the VA’s home telehealth services. Check with your facility to see what MOVE! options are available near you. Healthy educational cooking
VA facilities across the country offer Healthy Teaching Kitchens (HTKs) where veterans and their families can learn healthy cooking skills. Learn new recipes and techniques through cooking demonstrations and/or hands-on cooking classes. Some VA facilities even have gardens where you can learn how to grow your own food. Many HTKs offer courses focused on specific illnesses like diabetes or heart disease.
