Hy-Vee’s dietitians selected two easy and nutritious dips to help you kick off an incredible tailgate experience
GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — Are you ready for this? Fire up your favorite “Jock Jams,” because a good playoff party starts with good food. Hy-Vee dietitians helped the Sunrise team throw an in-studio celebration for the Vikings with appetizers galore.
In addition to wings, pretzel bites and spring rolls, the Hy-Vee team added two healthy dips: Elote Guacamole and layered Greek hummus.
Elote Guacamole is ready in just 10 minutes and you can add corn and cotija cheese for added flavor.
Elote Guacamole
- 1 container (16 oz) refrigerated classic guacamole
- ½ tsp. Mayonnaise
- ½ can (11 oz) Mexican-style corn, drained, plus extra for garnish
- 2 tbsp. fresh lime juice
- Cotija cheese, crumbled, for garnish
- Smoked paprika, for garnish
- tortilla chips, to serve

Combine guacamole, mayonnaise, 1/2 can Mexican corn and lime juice in a medium bowl.

Transfer the mixture to a serving bowl. Top with Cotija cheese, remaining Mexican corn and smoked paprika, if desired. Serve with tortilla chips.
Layered Greek Hummus Dip
- Two 10 oz containers of creamy and dreamy traditional Babas hummus
- ¾ cup chopped English cucumber
- 1 Roma tomato, chopped
- ¼ cup sliced olives
- ¼ cup sliced green onions
- ¼ – ½ crumbled feta cheese
- To serve: vegetables, whole grain crackers, tortilla chips
1. Spread hummus on a 10-inch serving dish. Top with cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, green onions and feta cheese.
2. Serve with vegetables, whole grain crackers or tortilla chips!
