A PREGNANT fitness fan who wore a dress code to her gym said it was the owner’s wife who challenged his outfit.
She didn’t think the style was revealing or showed a lot of skin, but it was still an apparent problem for reasons people think have to do with something else.
Wife of Emi Romero (@emiandandrew) maintains a consistent exercise regimen despite being five months pregnant.
She sat in her car and explained how she was dressed at her fitness center in a TikTok video partly because of her growing bump.
As a former physique competitor, Emi goes to a weight room, filled with mostly men and images of other competitors wearing very little clothing and bikinis.
“When I quit because I came back to the area, they told me they had a new dress code, which banned sports bras,” she said.
She thought it was a strange new rule but brushed it aside.
“I’m having a hard time getting dressed right now since I’m pregnant, so I’m wearing this tank top today,” she added before showing a photo.
Due to her growing belly, the tank top rode up slightly to reveal a flash of skin around her waist.
The entire time she worked, the owner’s wife looked down on her.
Eventually the gym owner came over and chatted before saying she had a problem with her top.
She responded that she didn’t wear a sports bra and he said he knew that, but his wife thought it was “hard to differentiate what a sports bra is.”
He told her she had two choices: leave or put on a top, which shocked and embarrassed her.
She looked around and saw other women with their stomachs out and wearing short sports stockings, but they were not told anything.
Emi tried to be respectful but felt it was “pretty offensive” and didn’t want to continue being a gym member somewhere where she felt the way she did.
Ultimately, she called it “the most awkward and uncomfortable encounter.”
Many viewers agreed that there was an ulterior motive as to why she wore a dress code.
“The woman didn’t have a problem with your outfit…she had a problem with the fact that you look incredibly gorgeous,” one commented.
“Cancel this subscription and leave a review with your photo in the outfit attached. This lady needs therapy if she thinks this is a problem,” another TikTok user wrote.
“You’re definitely a topic at their table. His wife hates you because you’re gorgeous,” one woman said.
