The Ohio State University is among the national leaders in integrative health and wellness research.
Here are some examples of our leadership role in integrative health and wellness research:
- Ohio State University was ranked among the top 25 universities in the nation with funding from the National Institutes of Health’s National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine in 2013.
- There are 17 tenure-initiating units and more than 40 unique principal investigators receiving integrative health and wellness funding at the University.
- There are 45 extramural funded projects at OSU that contain an integrative health and wellness research component, totaling more than $130 million in project support.
- Ohio State is represented on the Academic Health Centers Consortium for Integrative Medicine Research Working Group.
- The Ohio State University has two additional centers conducting related research on integrative health and wellness topics: the Food Innovation Center and the Behavioral Medicine Research Institute.
- Participation in PRIMIER (Patients Receive Integrative Medicine Interventions Effectiveness Registry) Bravewell Collaborative, a study that uses practice-based data collection to compare patients receiving integrative care versus those who do not, in perceived outcomes in terms of pain, depression, fatigue and physical function. PRIMIER provides the framework for discovering “best practices” in integrative medicine.
