The SMHS is back for 2023!
Virtual program: September 28
Since its inception in 2019, the MASSP Student Mental Health Summit has worked with nearly 4,000 educators and students in developing school resources and programs around this crucial topic. Facilitating this event virtually allows most school teams to listen, learn, and develop student-centered programming to proactively meet the greatest needs of your students and staff. We will face new educational and personal challenges on the horizon, particularly when it comes to student mental health. SMHS seeks to provide a unique opportunity for principals, counselors, student leadership advisors, and student leaders to come together to discuss and seek solutions to student mental health issues impacting our schools.
What will it look like?
VIRTUAL STUDENT MENTAL HEALTH SUMMIT
IT’S A STUDENT COVER! This year, we raised the bar for student voice and tapped some of Michigan’s most passionate students to help guide our discussions! This year’s SMHS planning committee was led by the Michigan Student Delegates Council to ensure that proper collaboration and insight from the student perspective remains our primary goal. Whether it’s student facilitators, small group discussion panels, or student-centered programs, students are leading the way during SMHS ’23! Students will feel at home and work alongside educators and peers to make our school communities healthy, happy places to learn and grow.
Mental health and well-being remains one of the top educational priorities for our students and educators. In an effort to remove as many barriers to this impactful conference as possible, we have moved this program to a virtual space. Our goal is to highlight critical areas of academic content, curriculum, and programs that any interested student or educator can access, regardless of where you live in Michigan. The MASSP Virtual Student Mental Health Summit will provide the same incredible content, keynote speakers, and dozens of new concepts and programs for use in your school building. Our virtual program also allows all participants to view each recorded keynote presentation and breakout session, instead of choosing from a series of simultaneous presentations.
SMHS+ (two additional webinars included!)
All Student Mental Health Summit registrations also include two follow-up webinars (SMHS+ webinars in January and May.) Adding new school-wide programs and additional goals to an already busy plate can be difficult to manage. Knowing that our SMHS provides many resources and initiatives that schools will want to implement, our SMHS+ webinars will focus on expanding on these key concepts from our September summit, but will also create space for additional support and follow-up progress throughout the year.
Capitalize on your momentum and help create the best environment for your staff and students with SMHS+.
