Loving yourself means taking good care of yourself, and there’s no better month to celebrate self-love than February! Join us for the February Self-Care Series which covers topics like mindfulness, stress reduction, and self-compassion, and is open to anyone who wants to take time out of their day to do something good for themselves. A different topic will be covered during each virtual session at noon. You can attend one, two, three or all four sessions.
Calm down and de-stress

Anger is a human emotion that we all feel at one time or another because… we are human! Anger is neither good nor bad, it just is. During this workshop, participants will be introduced to the effects of stress and anger on the brain and body. Participants will also learn ways to calm down and de-stress when they are angry.
Conscious self-compassion

When we lack compassion for ourselves, we may struggle to show compassion for others. However, self-compassion is often seen as an indulgent or selfish attitude. In this session, we’ll talk about the components and benefits of self-compassion and practice an activity to help you feel what self-compassion feels like.
Change negative self-talk

Do you sometimes feel like your thoughts are taking a negative direction? What if we talked to each other like we did with a good friend? You can! During this session, participants will learn about the brain’s negativity biases and how they affect our response to stress. Additionally, we’ll talk about the benefits of positive self-talk and explore other tools for dealing with negative self-talk.
Forgive and let go

How individuals manage their anger and stress affects the people around them. This workshop helps increase knowledge about anger issues and practice healthy relationship skills. This lesson includes ways to begin exploring forgiveness and letting go of past hurts that may be weighing heavy on your heart.
