For women and mothers in particular, this idea of the body is a loaded subject. On the one hand, for some of us, our bodies carried our children into this world. Without our bodies, we wouldn’t have babies and yet, as a natural consequence of bearing our children, we don’t always like the way those bodies look and feel. On the other hand, for some of us, it is our bodies that have made it difficult or even impossible to achieve this dream of becoming a parent, causing us pain, depression and even trauma.
