The Wellness Center hosted a create your own workout workshop at the Hart Fitness Center on Tuesday.
Tuesday’s workshop featured various exercises that students can use to create personal workout routines by teaching them how to target and strengthen different muscle groups.
Nicholas Kunz, personal trainer at the wellness center, said his favorite part about these workshops is having the opportunity to interact with different people from the school and help them learn the basics of fitness .
“The workshops show basic fundamentals that people might underestimate when they first come to the gym,” Kunz said. “For example, today we’re covering how to expand your workout, which is surprisingly an overlooked area of exercise.”
There will be workshops focused on flexibility and mobility, bodyweights and powerlifting, so students with different interests can learn about different topics.
“So people who might want a little more expertise in this area or have a very basic understanding of what building your workout is,” Kunz said. “People can start at any time and learn something new. »
McKaydee Call and Laney Wagner, two other wellness center workers, said they also enjoy meeting people at the workshops.
“I love this job,” Call said. “I think it’s great to work with people who help them learn, grow and improve their overall health.”
Wanger said she liked the topic covered Tuesday, which was learning basic exercises to help newcomers develop their personal workouts.
